“Chanel, it’s life itself, clothes that have a possibility of life”
A welcome change to the often exuberant stages that have looked at times to overtake the collections themselves this stage (within the Grand Palais in the heart of Paris) placed nature as its secondary yet inspired piece; where trees bared of leaves and the ground littered with “a palette of russets, reds and orange, moss and pine green, bark brown, prints of foliage or rings of grey wood, accompany the signature black and white of the House.”
The collection itself was Chanel itself - simple curvature and shape casted modern spins and coats showing an elongated silhouette decorated with wide turnback cuffs and sometimes feathers skim across the floor in irregular beats, lean and high shoulder spread out in spare as it would by ponchos. Slits by the sides of pencil skirts and dress coupled with godets.
Also present was a new bag named 31 that is suited to the shopper with generous size, smooth leather, and quilted leather joins the CHANEL family.
